ago, they accepted a call to minister to the large Mexican community in
Fowler, Kansas. Fowler is 888 miles from DCCC and 669 miles from
their home in Texas. Below is an excerpt from a recent newsletter.
"We
greet you in the name of His Majesty,KING JESUSl. What a joy to be
alive and healthy and able to enjoy this beautiful Kansas spring
weather! What a privilege to serve the Lord Jesus in this community!
Sometimes i think i will end up in an institution thinking and worrying
about the Mexicans in this community and their need to know Jesus as
Savior and Lord of their lives. I have acknowledged that i am not their
savior. None of us can save them. We can only show them who the Savior
is. He and only He can save them. We have tried to show them the love
of the Lord Jesus Christ. We have been in their homes and eaten at
their tables. We have also attended their birthday parties, weddings
and baby showers. We are waiting for the Lord to do the work in their
hearts.
On the first Sunday of April, after three months of getting the soil
ready to sow, we started services in Spanish. On the first Sunday five
Mexicans came and on the other two Sundays three came. The Carys and
several of the English-speaking church members have been a big
encouragement by attending these services and making the Mexicans feel
welcome. In the first service all five that attended confessed Jesus as
Lord and Savior. They need to understand so many things yet about the
new birth. Please pray to the Lord of the harvest to provide the growth
of the Good Seed that has been planted in their hearts. May it
germinate and bear fruit."
