Kuki Christian Church
T. Lunkim & Holkholet Khongsai
What can we say about the Kuki people (on one page)? Imphal, in
the state of Manipur, India is one of the biggest villages in the
world. Technically it is a city, of course, but in many ways it is a
big village in a 3rd world country.
Manipur is a very remote part of the world and quite different
from what many people imagine India to be. It is primarily tribal
groups (like the Kuki tribe) and probably more like we would
imagine Myanmar (formerly Burma).
Dr. Lunkim was an illiterate who worshipped animals before
meeting Christ. He has introduced his people to Christ, and they have
embraced Him as well. In Imphal, they now have an accredited
seminary...and many thriving churches throughout the state of Manipur,
Tripura, and other states, as well.
Many of the students at their seminary are very poor and need
support. If anyone feels led to help, we are sure your kindness
would be greatly appreciated.
FAME (Fellowship of Associates of Medical Evangelism) has
sponsored a medical vehicle and a clinic, which was just finished this
year. While the clinic is staffed, it still needs much in the way of
equipment.
Kuki Christian Church is committed to New Testament
Christianity, and their goal is to see the church united, working
together, rather than divided and pulling in different directions. Much
good is being accomplished there.
